On 6 March 1993, AC crossed the burning sands into the order of the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and strives to exemplify the aims of the fraternity: Manly Deeds, Scholarship and Love for All Mankind.

AC serves as the CEO of the American Institute for Responsible Discourse (AIRD). AIRD, an independent nonpartisan think tank, exists to advance democracy at the intersections of liberty, power, equity and inclusion in the United States.
Service
AC invests his time, talents and other resources into causes that promote human rights, equity and inclusion. He has volunteered for and contributed to various organizations throughout his adult life.
